Leah by Bike
This is me, pretty much every time I’m on a bike:
Growing up, I was often told the scary story of how bikes can be dangerous, especially if you bike with only one hand! This all thanks to my sister. I heard countless times the tale about how, when she was 11, she went biking with one hand, crashed, and broke her arm. She spent the summer (including her trip to Norway!) with a cast on her arm.
So, being the good child that I was, I dutifully rode with two hands on the bike, always. Whenever I took (take) one hand off, my thoughts immediately turn to Lori, her voice in the front of my mind.
I’ve made a vow to myself to do this more often (ride a bike, that is). It’s actually a big part as to why I am moving closer to the city centre this coming summer: I want to be able to zoom from place to place. I love the feeling I get while biking. Nothing beats it. And, well, what can I say? It’s my style, and I’ve missed it. It’s the perfect way to see a city, whether it’s one you’re visiting, or one you live in.
And I vow to always sing while I pedal. 🙂
